CAT

Sometimes I have nothing to say, so instead of me rambling on about shit... Here is just a post of what I wore today. Oh, just quickly, the skirt is a dress, its in a dogtooth print which isn't to clear on these pics. I was going to buy a skirt in a similar pattern the other day, but for once I thought I would save money and just improvise with the dress.

Draws of Narnia

My drawers (not my knickers) are a bit like Narnia, in the way that they seem to be endless, and then, at the end of it you get a pleasant surprise! Although there are a few fashion faux pas, ice queen moments in there. Stick with me I'm getting to the point...
While cringing at my faux pas I came across this T-shirt. I bought it from a Katy B show I saw earlier this year. It isn't my normal choice of music but I had a really good time. Especially since Ms Dynamite was supporting, and yeap she sang 'Ms Dynamiteeee' (High pitched voice). Any English person must know what I'm talking about!? So the basic gist of this blog is; I was cleaning my drawers out and I found this T-shirt, which I forgot I had and I wore it. Finally, I especially like this T-shirt as I think Katy B looks quite ethereal, almost like the virgin Madonna (not the singer I don't think she has been anything 'virgin' like for years!)

The Races

Finally, I have the pictures from the races to share with you. The dress I am wearing is from Zara. I decided on this dress mainly due to the colour and the cut around the arms, which is the same front and back. Although I tend not to stick to rules when it comes to what you should, and shouldn't wear, because this was a more formal event I thought I would wear a higher neckline. To accessorize, I wore just a simple necklace, gold watch and my Raybans. The clutch is also from Zara, I chose this to add some contrast in colour and texture with bright yellow and snakeskin. Finally, my shoes are simple black heels from Kurt Geiger. I decided against a hat for two reasons; 1. I didn't want to wear a hat (probably the best reason) and 2. It wasn't ladies day, so you aren't technically obliged to wear one. I feel very grown up in this outfit and it made me feel very womanly as it created curves with the cut. When I bought the dress I was a bit saddened by the fact that there is going to be very few places I will be able to wear it. However, due to the cut I think I'm going to try and style it with a military jacket and some ankle boots and see if that works (I will keep you posted). I'm going to the new Leeds Topshop tomorrow to visit their new flagship store... god help my bank balance :P.
P.S The girl in the pictures with me is one of my besties, Stacey, her dress is from Topshop and comes in loads of colours. I think the colour she has chosen looks amazing with her red hair.
Enjoy you weekends and the pics.

Friends from other planets

In my last post I mentioned I was going to the races for the first time, well, I had an amazing time! Honestly, if you have never been, I would definitely recommend it. It was worth the money just to see some of the Ladies hats; they gave Princess Beatrice a run for her money. I had taken pictures, but me being the massive doofus that I am, I managed to lose my phone :( .  Luckily my friend grabbed a few snaps so when I have those I will share them with you. I was going to take my camera, but it ended up being a toss up between that, or a pair of flat shoes, and well, flats prevailed. Wearing heels from 11.30 in the morning is not good, they may look good, but when you end up standing like a flamingo letting one foot have a rest and vice versa, then actually, flats probable don't look so bad! Myself, and my friend were the envy of all the flamingos :p.  In the meantime, I have taken some pictures of the outfit I wore today. The jumper I am wearing is mainly inspired by a combination of the fashion weeks, were the embellished sweater seemed to rein supreme. Especially the green Kenzo tiger jumper, I'm green with envy that I don't own it! The Jumper I'am wearing believe it or not is made by my super talented younger sister, she also designs and makes T-shirts. At the moment her theme seems to be space, which is fine by me because I'm loving my little alien friend.
