'Doing a Britney'

Just an arrow to indicate my diamond freckle

Can a skirt ever be to short? And, if so, how short is too short? Is there a certain length that you think 'STOP!' and find yourself pulling at the hem? For me, rather oddly, it is dictated by four little freckles which create a diamond shape on my thigh. That's right guys, I am Hollie Potter. Forget scars on the forehead its all about diamond freckles on your leg! Of course I am joking about being a wizard, but with the freckle to skirt length ratio I am not!! For me they tend to indicate 'that's enough leg now', and more often it saves the embarrassment of any front or back flashing. Don't get me wrong, when it comes to shorts I totally disregard my freckles. I think in a silly way I feel slightly more covered up in shorts, maybe its because there is no chance of pulling a 'Britney' (google it... actually maybe don't if your eating). Lets face it, it really comes down to how comfortable you feel with the length of your skirt. My only piece of advice is; always wear underwear as 'doing a Britney' will never be a trend.

I heart charity shops

I really love charity shops, I found this skirt for three pounds in one! I know it is really down to pure luck, but I think that's part of the fun. I have one key tip; Have a loose idea of what your looking for, whether this be a trend, or a certain item of clothing and you will probably find it less daunting. Although there is a definite increase in the amount of people shopping in charity shops a lot of my friends still look at me flabbergasted when I tell them where I found my new purchase. Sometimes I feel like they don't know me at all *sighs*. I joke of course, but surely this proves that there's still a lot of variety and quality items to be found... there is a lot of crap too. So to re-cap keep an eye on trends and what's missing from you wardrobe, once you get into the swing of things you will be walking around Topshop saying 'I could find that in a charity shop!' and 'how much? pffftt... get me to a charity shop!'
And here is were I contradict myself, the jumper I am wearing is from Topshop... it was in the sale though 'I plead for you forgiveness' (bended knees and clasped hands).
Have you found any bargains in charity shops? or do find yourself doing the same in High-street shops?
Enjoy the pics

D.I.Y T-Shirt

Most of the Blogs I read seem to have done a D.I.Y (Do it Yourself) piece of some sort. One of my favourite D.I.Y bloggers is, Style Marmalade, she seems to make her pieces so effortlessly … envious!

So, I have decided to take the plunge and try it myself, starting small and keeping it simple.
Have Fun!!

What you will need:  A plain T-shirt, A4 Card-board (I have used an old Cereal box, Honey Nut optional:P) and a Fabric Pen (Black).

2. Because I wasn't confident at drawing the Cross free hand, I drew a rough one on the cardboard as a guide (See below).

3. Then I placed the card board in the middle of the T-shirt so I was able to see the cross through the material.

4. With the fabric pen I roughly drew the cross onto the T-shirt. While doing this I found that the pen wouldn't stay in a straight line, but this actually looks a lot better so i just went with it.

5. Then repeat to finalise your cross.

And there you have it, an individual T-shirt. (For care details see the Fabric pen as these may vary.)

(Sorry about the dodgy pose it was late and I was tired!)
