Lost in the Post

I think all my invites to NYFW must have got lost in the post or something. Maybe its all the snow they have been experiencing because I am still in England waiting. I am joking of course, but while we are on the topic, with so many of my favorite fashion bloggers and magazines posting minute by minute updates online and on instagram, you don't really need to get dressed or leave bed to be on F-row. Since my invitations seem to be 'missing in the post' I had some time to kill, so I decided to hit my usual haunts and took a few pics of WIWT. Right, I'm off to go look for the postman or hang around my mail box... Am I coming off as desperate?

Camouflage

One trend I absolutely love this season is camouflage. And if I could afford the whole Whistles collection I would snap it up straight away... especially the parka. Unfortunately for me, it looks like others have had the same idea and snapped the parka up before I even had the chance to click the 'add to cart' button. In the mean time I have been trolling the internet for a camouflage alternative to quench my thirst, and much to my delight, ASOS have provided that much needed drink. After searching the websites many options, I decided to go with a dress, due to fact that I can layer it under jumpers and style it many different ways, which is perfect for the coming winter months. The dress itself hangs loose, think/Google Victoria Beckham's s/s 14 grey peplum dress and you get the idea. If your not to sure on the fit, but you like the dress, I would suggest going for a size smaller than you usually buy. For the rest of the outfit I simply added some black ankle boots which are from... PRIMARK. I write it bold because, up until recently I was one of those poor souls who was inflicted with 'Neverfindanythinginthereitis'. Literally, I would come out with a pair of socks and that would be it. So I was pleasantly surprised when I found something I like in my size and for just 18 pounds... such a bargain.

Last of the Summer Wine

Contrary to the post title I am not talking about the British sitcom involving old men. I am more using the title to illustrate the fact that I will be taking these last few opportunities to bare my legs as much as possible... Well, before they grow their winter coat! Come on we are all guilty of it, especially with tights to cover up the evidence. Just think of it as an extra thermal layer. I think I am trying to hard to convince myself that other people do this... Oh well. So, if you hear on the news in the winter months that a Yetee has been spotted you know were to look. Okay, I think I'm exaggerating, its only a bit of hair on my legs!!  Maybe I should have called this post 'the extra winter coat'?

WIWT

Here are a few pictures of the outfit I wore today. Bored with winter appropriate clothing I decided to wear a summer dress. Although, I haven't totally lost my marbles I added tights and a T-shirt.

Night to Day

As far as I am aware, most of my girlfriends, including myself, will have at least one dress in there wardrobe that will only come out to play on an evening. In my opinion it is a shame and also quite a waste of wardrobe space. So why don’t we utilise these pieces in our wardrobe?
Maybe it’s the way the dresses are marketed towards evening wear in shops and magazines, or maybe some people believe that if you wear an evening dress during the day its to ‘dressy.’
Don’t miss judge this blog. Some dresses you own may not be appropriate for daytime wear, but im sure you can use your common sense and work out the ball gown you own probably wont do for a trip to the market!
So, I have decided to see if it is possible to wear one of my dresses that I would class as 'evening wear', during the day and where better to start than with the LBD. This is probably one of the easiest dresses to wear during the day. Firstly, I teamed my dress with a casual oversized cream cardigan, a brown belt to break up the black and then my favourite ankle boots. I added simple accessories; such as my brown bag  and necklaces (See pics). I decided to use a lot of brown tones in this outfit as it is a casual colour.
I think the key thing to remember is; if your going to try it out, keep things simple. Try adding a simple leather jacket, that always seems to work, or even adding tights.
Honestly, I would recommend you try wearing an evening dress during the day. What do you think?
Enjoy the Pics
