Video Virginity

‘Shop your wardrobe’ is probably one of the best pieces of advice I have ever read on a fashion blog. Although simple, you wouldn't believe how much I struggle sometimes to put an outfit together from my wardrobe and lack of clothes is definitely not the reason. Most of the time I find it so much easier to go out and buy something new, instead of spending hours looking through my wardrobe. In my case, this is a real shame as I often miss hidden gems and end up spending a fortune on clothes I probably already have or could style into the look I wanted. Social media has definitely affected the way I dress and purchase items. I am ashamed to say that I often don’t like to be seen wearing the same outfit twice or often the same piece of clothing, which I will admit, is ridiculous, as I don’t have the disposable income to support such a lifestyle... this needs to change.
I think that is the main reason ‘shop your wardrobe’ has become one of my favourite pieces of advice, that, and the increase in my bank account balance. If you’re struggling for inspiration often asking a friend to pull some items gives you a fresh perspective on your wardrobe. Lately, I have been loving the two piece trend with the matching top and bottoms, so instead of buying a new outfit I had a good look through my wardrobe, and came up with what you see pictured. I like this outfit that much I decided to add heels and wear it for cocktails with friends (I think I need a lie down to much change). I also decided to do something a little different... an outfit video... I definitely need a lie down.

The Faker

I must say I am really enjoying the trend that seems to be taking the piss out of designer brands. Its a street style rebellion, with the tongue 'n cheek T-shirts and a sort of 'middle finger' to pricing us out of  their products. I think I will call this trend 'The Faker'.

Metallic Mondays

Have you ever bought an item of clothing that even in the store you are not sure when or where you will wear it? I have... and on more then one occasion. Often these purchases turn out to be braver then my usual choices in terms of the print, texture or material. This metallic silver jacket is a perfect example. I bought it in a Zara sale a while ago. I think I felt sorry for it, sat there with a full rack of its fellow silver comrades and the odd David Bowie ground control reference being thrown in there general direction. With that it became a challenge. My thoughts were 'I will buy this jacket and I will make it work'. I often make these decisions when an item is in the sale, but then don't we all buy things we don't need because it's cheaper and in the sale? This Jacket was a bargain at £10 pounds, and today, in the rare English heat, I decided to dress like 'a chicken in tin foil', these are not my words, but the words of a passer by. I'm pretty sure I have expressed in a previous post the joy it  gives me when someone hates my outfit enough to comment out loud... I really thought I had toned  it down with the black. Obviously not enough for some.
