Trends ft Whistles & Topshop

Sometimes the best way to incorporate trends into your everyday wardrobe is to keep it simple. I know sometimes that it is easier said than done because those outfits that look effortless are often the ones you end up pondering for hours. So I have a piece of advice (and it's obvious), DON'T! Don't over think the latest trends, keep it simple! Like anyone you should practice what you preach so with one of my beady eye's on the New York catwalk shows I noticed the use of pastel colours creeping back onto the scene. So, incorporating this into today's outfit I kept it simple with my Lilac skirt from Topshop. However, I do have one golden rule when buying trend driven pieces: Can it be styled in 3 different ways with items you already have in your wardrobe? If the answer is no, then I would usually say, forget it, because you will spend more money buying more pieces just to go with it. I have often found that by only buying items I can style in 3 different ways I make use of my whole wardrobe and become more creative with my outfits. So give it a go, check out your fav designers catwalk show this season and see if you can think of ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe. Think of it as sort of homework, however the best kind, because it includes clothes.
