Thrifty Easter

A simple Easter outfit with a splash of colour. The jumper I am wearing is from a charity shop, but the fit was a little off, so I decided to cut it into a crop. I do love finding bargains especially in thrift stores, I sort of feel like I have achieved a little more than when I am just looking through a high-street shop sales. I think its probably because you are never guaranteed to find anything on trend, and for me, because it has been previously loved, I don't seem to mind so much taking a pair of scissors to it! New clothes however, are a different story and I cannot quite bring myself to hack at them, whether in the sale or not. I know this is probably because I liked the item enough to buy it as it was. There is however, one downside to buying charity shop clothes... The smell. I think I had to hand wash this jumper about five times before it stopped smelling of roast dinners and bingo halls.

Magazine Feature

I cannot believe I have been featured again in Look Magazine and in there Huge Fashion issue!! Even though they have said I am 25 when I in fact I am 24. Maybe they are dropping a subtle hint and I need to buy some better moisturiser or invest in bigger sunglasses. Oh well, its still a privilege to be featured. Thank you Look Magazine.

The Flats Appeal

  

 

 

This isn't a new trend, but any trend that allows me to wear trainers with practically anything has got my approval. Although you have to be careful not to look like Lily Allen circa 2008, actually scratch that, I just Youtubed her old videos and I wouldn't mind dressing in some of those outfits. Painter and Decorator

Last night I decided to wear my favourite painter and decorator outfit (I mean overalls)and headed out for cocktails with my girlfriends. I honestly could wear my overalls all the time they are so versatile. I have to rein myself in when I'm shopping so I don't buy any more. Seriously, I would be walking around like an adult baby 24/7.

The Races

Finally, I have the pictures from the races to share with you. The dress I am wearing is from Zara. I decided on this dress mainly due to the colour and the cut around the arms, which is the same front and back. Although I tend not to stick to rules when it comes to what you should, and shouldn't wear, because this was a more formal event I thought I would wear a higher neckline. To accessorize, I wore just a simple necklace, gold watch and my Raybans. The clutch is also from Zara, I chose this to add some contrast in colour and texture with bright yellow and snakeskin. Finally, my shoes are simple black heels from Kurt Geiger. I decided against a hat for two reasons; 1. I didn't want to wear a hat (probably the best reason) and 2. It wasn't ladies day, so you aren't technically obliged to wear one. I feel very grown up in this outfit and it made me feel very womanly as it created curves with the cut. When I bought the dress I was a bit saddened by the fact that there is going to be very few places I will be able to wear it. However, due to the cut I think I'm going to try and style it with a military jacket and some ankle boots and see if that works (I will keep you posted). I'm going to the new Leeds Topshop tomorrow to visit their new flagship store... god help my bank balance :P.
P.S The girl in the pictures with me is one of my besties, Stacey, her dress is from Topshop and comes in loads of colours. I think the colour she has chosen looks amazing with her red hair.

D.I.Y T-Shirt

Most of the Blogs I read seem to have done a D.I.Y (Do it Yourself) piece of some sort. One of my favourite D.I.Y bloggers is, Style Marmalade, she seems to make her pieces so effortlessly … envious!

So, I have decided to take the plunge and try it myself, starting small and keeping it simple.

What you will need:  A plain T-shirt, A4 Card-board (I have used an old Cereal box, Honey Nut optional:P) and a Fabric Pen (Black).

2. Because I wasn't confident at drawing the Cross free hand, I drew a rough one on the cardboard as a guide (See below).

3. Then I placed the card board in the middle of the T-shirt so I was able to see the cross through the material.

4. With the fabric pen I roughly drew the cross onto the T-shirt. While doing this I found that the pen wouldn't stay in a straight line, but this actually looks a lot better so i just went with it.

5. Then repeat to finalise your cross.

And there you have it, an individual T-shirt. (For care details see the Fabric pen as these may vary.)
