Gone have the days were that washed out grey'ish comfy bra was fine, now, more than ever, the bra or the bralette is queen, especially when it comes to giving an outfit a certain 'je ne sais quoi'. Now don't panic, I am not saying that you need to go all Mean Girls on me and cut holes in your tops like Regina George but it is definitely a subtle way of adding detail to an outfit. So when Boohoo.com got in touch with me and asked if I would style one of their bra's from their lingerie range showcasing the trend or the aptly named 'peek-a-boohoo' trend I was firstly bloody thrilled with that pun and secondly intrigued. Before agreeing, I naturally did a spot of research i.e. had a good look on their website lingerie page you can do some 'research' here and I must say I was pleasantly surprised, not only by the choice, but also by the price! Okay, so after doing some 'research' or basically making a mental checklist of everything that needed to be in my life/underwear draw the challenge began...
So this months High End Vs High Street has an obvious theme... SHOES! Its the same old story, too many shoes but you still need just one more pair, or three, in this months case. I have lusted after the Prada pair since they first hit the catwalk and would have paid full price if they didn't sell out so quick! But luckily, Nasty gal, albeit a year or so later, have catered to my wallet and my heart with their version. Then there's Zara, it is ridiciouls how much these look like the Chloe version. I know the heel is different (the zara heel is better in my opinion), but I do wonder how they don't get sued for theft of intellectual property or something (I have been watching The Goodwife lately). Finally, the mules. Normally I hate mules, but after my sister bought the office pair I fell in love, but not so much in love that I would wear them everyday and justify paying £65. So I was thrilled when I found Tesco's version for £25. Now, I know the final shoe isn't really 'high-end' but its more expensive than the Tesco pair so I am going to count it. And I know I did just say I would pay full price for the Prada's but believe me, I would live in those even if it meant twisted ankles!
